​Crescent Creative Products, Artboards Product Line Rollout 

The Objective: Breathing new life into a standard product line. Artists and designers have trusted Crescent’s line of artboards for years, but understanding the difference between hot press and cold press boards and knowing which boards would be ideal for the type of art and media created buyer confusion. Our team collaborated with Crescent to create a new line of branding and packaging to help customers make quick and easy buying decisions.

The CDC Solution: Beginning with branding, our team created eight pieces of original art to represent each type of board and art media to help customers find the right board for their work. We developed a distinct color palette for the branding to differentiate the boards further. Art tools were also photographed and integrated into the packaging imagery for an additional quick reference.

The artboards are now sold in a selection of pre-cut, 3-Packs sizes, in addition to large boards that had always been available. This new packaged offering created an additional convenience for artists and designers, who previously needed to cut the boards to size before getting to work.

The Results: Distributors and retailers love the new packaging and 3-Packs. Additional SKUs have been picked up, and the 3-Packs have a new preferred retail placement.
